Untitled Document

Today, many animals are endangered due to climate change and human activities. The flying squirrel is one of them. It is natural monument number 328. Sadly, the squirrels are disappearing in Korea. They are listed as an endangered wild animal.

The Korean government has tried to increase their population. Fortunately, a flying squirrel family was found at Deogyu Mountain National Park´öÀ¯»ê ±¹¸³°ø¿ø on May 9. The park office found four flying squirrels playing in the forest.

The family lives in the valley of the mountain where there are many fir trees. The flying squirrels are about 15 to 20 centimeters long. They can fly long distances using their wings. They have wings between their front legs and hind legs.

They spend most of their lives in tree holes. The park will protect the endangered squirrels' habitats. Let's hope the flying squirrel family will stay healthy!
